Lupe privacy policy

Updated 17 October 2026 · Operated by Pedrock LLC

Lupe is a desktop Chrome extension for shared, observed asking-price history on supported residential listings at idealista.pt, idealista.com, and Encuentra24 pages for Panama and Costa Rica. It is independent of those listing sites.

What the extension sends

History lookup starts automatically. The extension sends public listing IDs and the site market to Lupe's API to retrieve shared history. Price sharing is on by default. You can pause it in the popup; history lookup continues while sharing is paused.

When sharing is on, the extension also sends the public listing ID, observed asking price, currency, sale or rental type, rental period where available, observation time, and a random retry ID for that observation. The API records when it receives an observation. Other Lupe users can see accepted asking-price events for the same listing. Each site market keeps its listing IDs separate.

Lupe does not send full page HTML, page URLs, photos, names, phone numbers, messages, account credentials, or an account or installation ID. The retry ID prevents one upload from being counted twice; it does not identify an installation. Lupe does not crawl listings in the background or use observations for personalized advertising.

How the data is used and stored

The API uses listing keys to return shared history and does not store individual lookup requests. It stores accepted public asking-price observations, current listing state, and visible price changes in PostgreSQL. An asking-price history starts when a participating browser first observes a listing; it may be incomplete and is not a record of completed sale prices.

The extension keeps up to 500 recently viewed histories on your device for up to seven days, with cleanup while Chrome runs or when it next starts. During temporary API failures it can keep up to 500 unsent observations. Pausing sharing clears that pending queue and stops new observations; prices already shared remain in common history.

Nonvisible raw sightings, including unchanged and quarantined observations, are removed from the API database after 30 days. Current listing state and visible price events are retained while the shared-history service operates. The production server has daily Azure Backup recovery points retained for 30 days, so removed data may remain in a backup until its recovery point expires.

Service operation and recipients

Lupe's API and database run on a Microsoft Azure virtual machine in Sweden Central. Microsoft provides the hosting and backup infrastructure. The API uses the connection IP only for short-lived, in-memory rate limiting; price records are not linked to that IP. The API and its HTTPS proxy do not write HTTP access logs. Azure infrastructure may process operational network metadata under its own services.

Lupe shares accepted listing price history with other extension users through its API. It does not sell the observations or send them to the listing sites as part of this feature.

This website

trylupe.com is a static information site. It sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. Its hosting provider may process standard connection data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.

Your choices and requests

You can pause price sharing in the popup or remove the extension in Chrome. Because observations are not linked to a person or installation, Lupe cannot identify every contribution made by a particular user for deletion. If a specific listing history appears wrong, contact us with its site and listing ID so we can review it. Deletions from the live database may remain in Azure backups for up to 30 days.
